Cleaning & Care Instructions
All rental items supplied by The Pretty Table are clean, hygienic and ready to use. They are packaged carefully to restrict movement in order to protect against breakage or damage during transit.
Please see below for specific cleaning & repacking instructions by item type. Failure to follow the cleaning instructions will result in additional cleaning fees being charged post event. You are required to ensure the rental items are packed as they were supplied and are safe for transit, including using the packaging material (foam, bubble wrap) and containers supplied.
We recommend you count and check all rental items prior to returning them to The Pretty Table. The Pretty Table will also count and check the rental items on their return to their premises which will be deemed final. Any dispute on The Pretty Table count/check will require photographic proof.
Any loss or damage to the rental items and their containers/bags/racks supplied will be charged at replacement value.
Cutlery
All food should be rinsed immediately from cutlery after use to avoid staining, rusting and damage. Our classic, contemporary, vintage and urban cutlery is domestic and commercial dishwasher safe. Our jewel cutlery is to be handwashed only. We ask you to dry and count the cutlery before returning to its container to avoid rust from forming.
Charger Plates/Placemats
Charger plates/placemats are meant for decorative purposes only and should not be eaten off. Dinner plates must be placed on top of charger plates/placemats for all meals. We recommend removing charger plates from the table after dinner course. If food accidently falls onto the charger plates it must be hand rinsed (or dry wiped off for placemats) prior to returning to containers. Charger plates are NOT dishwasher safe. We ask you to dry and count the charger plates/placemats before returning to its container/bag. Charger plates should be wrapped back in bubble wrap and placed back into their containers according to the number count on the container. Placemats should be counted and placed back into their bags. Do not overpack the transport containers/bags.
Dinnerware
All food should be rinsed immediately from plates after use to avoid staining or mould from forming. All of our plates are domestic and commercial dishwasher safe, except for those with gold/silver/black/white/coloured rims (contemporary and ornate) which are to be hand washed only. We ask you to dry and count the plates before returning to its container. Plates should be wrapped back in bubble wrap and placed back into their containers according to the number count on the container. Do not overpack the transport containers.
Glassware
Our glasses are to have liquids tipped out, lightly rinsed and placed upside down back in the glass dishwasher racks provided. For venues with a commercial dishwasher, our glasses can be washed on a fast cycle in the glass dishwasher racks provided. Our ripple and gold/silver rim glassware are NOT dishwasher safe and need to have liquids tipped out only. Glassware that is used for cocktails/mocktails should be rinsed to remove salt/sugar rims and any sticky substances before returning to their racks.
Cake stands, dessert table décor & serveware
Rinse or wipe to remove food & liquid and dry before wrapping in bubble wrap and placing back into their container.
Napkins
Napkins must NOT be washed or ironed after use.
Please ensure that prior to placing dirty napkins back into the box supplied that the following occurs:
- Napkins are counted so that any missing can be located prior to returning.
- Take note of the condition of the napkins including significant food & liquid stains from curry, red sauce, oil, coffee, vinegar, red wine or if napkins have holes, tears, burn marks, candle wax, pen marks or chewing gum. Please place these napkins into a separate bag in the box.
- Any wet napkins are aired out to dry, otherwise mould will grow on the napkins.
Tablecloths
Tablecloths must NOT be washed or ironed after use.
Please ensure that prior to placing dirty tablecloths back into the box supplied that the following occurs.
- Tablecloths are counted so that any missing can be located prior to returning.
- Take note of the condition of the tablecloths including significant food & liquid stains from curry, red sauce, coffee, oil, vinegar, red wine or if tablecloths have holes, tears, burn marks, candle wax, pen/crayon/texta marks, floral dyes or chewing gum.
- Any wet tablecloths are aired out to dry, otherwise mould will grow on the tablecloths.
- Any food scraps, flowers, rubbish must be removed from tablecloths prior to placing in boxes, otherwise additional cleaning fees may apply.
Tablerunners
Table runners must NOT be washed or ironed after use.
Please ensure that prior to placing table runners back into the box supplied that the following occurs:
- Table runners are counted so that any missing can be located prior to returning.
- Take note of the condition of the table runner including significant food & liquid stains from curry, red sauce, coffee, soft drink, oil, vinegar, red wine or if table runners have holes, tears, burn marks, candle wax, pen/crayon/texta marks, floral dyes or chewing gum.
- Any wet table runners are aired out to dry, otherwise mould will grow on the table runners.
Table Lamps
Table lamps are supplied in separate parts — shades, bulbs, and bases — and will require assembly on site. Full assembly instructions will be provided.
After use, table lamps must be disassembled and returned to their original packaging. Please ensure that bulbs and original packaging are retained and not discarded.
Candle Holders
Any candle wax needs to be sufficiently removed from the candle holders prior to returning otherwise a cleaning fee will apply. Please place candle holders back into the boxes provided.
Vases
Water, florals and floral foam must be removed from the vases prior to returning. Vases should be put back into their boxes or wrapped back in bubble wrap.
